No one knows for sure what causes anxiety disorders. From my experience it isn't any one thing, it is usually a combination of things. If you are not taking care of you physical health by getting enough sleep, exercising and eating a healthy diet you are putting yourself at risk. If you tend to worry a lot about things that you really have no control over, and don't take care of your own emotional needs, like finding time for yourself and the things that matter to you, may be more vulnerable to depression and anxity. Always putting everyone else's need before your own, can leave you feeling exhausted and drained and lead to anxiety disorders and depression. Also, If you are not staying connected to your source, to your God,, and things that matter to you spiritually, you can feel a disconnection in your life that may lead to a poor emotional state. I compare it to a four legged stool., if any of the legs on the stool are not strong and well balanced then you are going to have some problems.

The brain is like a muscle, and the thoughts that you think can become the strongest part of the brain, and become like a default setting in your computer. Finding time for yourself and your own needs is crucial to your well being. Often we don't realize how we are negelecting our own needs. Women especially tend to put other's needs before their own. When we don't value ourselves and our own needs as much as we do other's, it lowers our own self respect and confidence. It can also lower the respect that we receive from others around us. Putting yourself first once in a while is not selfish, it is necessary!
Spirtual health is also vitally important. We all came from God and are children of God. Learning to "Let go, and Let God", can be life changing! Connect to God in whatever way works for you, by praying, meditating, going for a walk in nature, etc. Each person has to find their own path to God. One may choose to pray in a chapel, another in a grove of trees, it just depends on where you feel most connected to God..
